Trump pardons Zhao

Donald Trump pardoned Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. The White House said the move marked the end of the Biden administration’s “war on cryptocurrency.” Zhao, known as CZ, had pleaded guilty in 2023 to failing to maintain an anti–money laundering program, stepped down as Binance CEO, and served a four-month prison sentence. Binance paid $4.3 billion to settle related charges and remains barred from operating in the U.S.
